Tarte Clay Pots <3

Tarte is touted as a natural, sensitive skin friendly brand. And their products are truly amazing. When surfing their Website I came across the “sale” section and saw that their Claypot cream shadow/liners’ were on a discount and I had had an additional code.. so some damage happened.

These retail for 102AED on Sephora but I got them for around 59 bucks a piece.. which is great all things considered.

These are so cute.. but the package is a bit misleading. The actual containers are pretty small- similar to the Maybelline gel liner one. The colors I got are very.. pastel/bright – mint, lilac, teal, yellow- because I wanted them as bases also, for my Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette.

The over all consistency is very creamy and emolient. The pigment is rich and consistent. They go on smooth and can be layered and once they are dry- they do not budge!! That is amazing considering I live in a humid place.

These are beautiful as liners and eyeshadow bases both. They don’t seem to dry out fast but it is always advised to keep the lids tightly screwed on. I just love using them as pops of colour as well. They are so multi purpose that I really think they are a worthy purchase.

PS- Shipping from Tarte was great and they came packaged well.

The best drugstore concealor <3

There was a time when I searched high and low for the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealor – you know, the one with a sponge on the top – and it was not anywhere in the UAE. But I would hear and read of┬ápeople raving about this product, but it had not yet released here – but now it has.

You can find this in Carrefour beauty section, standalone stores, Boots – where ever Maybelline is sold for 55.00 AED which is steep – but this is UAE and makeup here is generally steep!

The mechanism is a twist-click one where you need to twist the red part and the product comes out through the sponge. Not the most sanitary option, but I remember reading that the sponge has some anti-bacterial situation going on and so far it has not broken me out – so I am cool with it. I bought mine in the shade Medium – which suits me fine for all over the face as well as under the eyes.

I love this product so much! The consistency is beautiful- it is not heavy but offers wonderful coverage, does not drag over the skin and blends seamlessly. The sponge is soft and well made where it spreads the product without tugging and not much blending thereafter is required. It doesn’t crease under the eyes as well. This works well with a BeautyBlender and a brush – what ever you prefer.

The only con I have is – if you are oily- set it or else it will become shiny around the 4 hour mark. I typically find this happening around my nose area and forehead where I am very oily, but nothing that setting it doesn’t take care of. There are days when this is the only base product I use on my face and set it with powder for making my skin look even.

Comes highly recommended from me and a definite repurchase.
