Tarte is touted as a natural, sensitive skin friendly brand. And their products are truly amazing. When surfing their Website I came across the “sale” section and saw that their Claypot cream shadow/liners’ were on a discount and I had had an additional code.. so some damage happened.
These retail for 102AED on Sephora but I got them for around 59 bucks a piece.. which is great all things considered.
These are so cute.. but the package is a bit misleading. The actual containers are pretty small- similar to the Maybelline gel liner one. The colors I got are very.. pastel/bright – mint, lilac, teal, yellow- because I wanted them as bases also, for my Kat Von D Pastel Goth Palette.
The over all consistency is very creamy and emolient. The pigment is rich and consistent. They go on smooth and can be layered and once they are dry- they do not budge!! That is amazing considering I live in a humid place.
These are beautiful as liners and eyeshadow bases both. They don’t seem to dry out fast but it is always advised to keep the lids tightly screwed on. I just love using them as pops of colour as well. They are so multi purpose that I really think they are a worthy purchase.
PS- Shipping from Tarte was great and they came packaged well.
Tarte is a brand that is very highly regarded when it comes to sensitive skin and the only things so far I had tried from them were their Amazonian Clay blushes in different holiday kits. They recently launched the Tartiest Range of cosmetics and one of the most buzzed about products was the highlight and contour palette. It however, had a cream contour and was more than what I wanted to spend on a palette which may react with my skin and had an unwanted cream! Tarte can be ordered on their website and is now available in Sephora stores and online!
Lo and behold, I was in the Sephora at Dubai Mall and I saw this last Pro Glow To Go mini of the palette at the till and added it to my purchase.
The packaging is a standard sturdy cardboard – very thin and sleek, which opens like a little book with a mirror on the left (ideal for touchups on the go) and 2 highlights (one pearl and one sand) and a bronzer/contour on the right. The powders are 2.3 g each and it retails for 100 AED. The full size is 5.0 g each with a value of 200 AED. Not the best value wise, but for someone who doesn’t reach for a full palette all the time – excellent. Get the full size if you need highlighters and don’t have a already big collection!
I am in love! The quality is amazing, the powders are fine and melt into the skin – the texture accentuation is minimal if you are worried about it – but use a light hand or it will react like any other powder and expose the terrain. The powders are also Cocoa scented which gives me Nutella cravings all the time!
I would say if you were eyeing the original palette and were wary about the cream in that, go with this one. It is the same quality, same product – just mini and without the cream hassles.
A definite recommendation from my end!
I cannot tell you how many times I have had the urge to go for something complicated like the Shop N Ship or manically scout the websites Glamazle and Al Shop through the day in office (even at night) when something new from Tarte launched. I have paid exhorbent prices for their limited edition Blush palettes and individual blushes, but no more!!
THEY’RE SHIPPING TO THE UAE!!
Check out the randomom screenshot.
Now, I agree that 459 AED per order is way up there in price – but I can justify that! You have to pay an odd 139 AED for a single blush and then pay shipping 25 AED to get that posted. Now you can buy more, and get free shipping – trust me, do the math and it works out better.
Just wanted to share that with you lovlies out there! I can foresee a HUGE Tarte order coming my way!
